
On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, Prince of Songkla University and the Faculty of Medicine, in collaboration with the International Peace Foundation (IPF) organized an exclusive lecture by Prof. Randy W. Schekman, Nobel Laureate for Medicine in 2013, on the topic of "The role of basic science in biotechnology", in celebration of the 55th anniversary of PSU.
This inspirational talk was organized as a part of the JAPAN-ASEAN BRIDGES event, to also honor the 50th anniversary of Japan-ASEAN relations, with sponsorship from the Mitsui Fudosan Group, Dusit Hotels and Resorts, Kasikornbank Public Co. Ltd., and BMW (Thailand) Co. Ltd. The venue was Thongchan Hongladarom Room, Conference Center, Faculty of Medicine, PSU
Prof. Randy W. Schekman is an American biochemist and cell biologist at the University of California, Berkeley, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in for Medicine in 2013 for his contributions to the discovery of the genetic basis of vesicle transport in cells.
